I was encouraged to come workout with Eric, at Rock City Fitness, after getting COVID and pneumonia. I was at a pretty shakey part of my life - I didn’t take my health serious, and because of that, my mental focus wasn’t there either. I didn’t like it. I didn’t want this to be how I lived day-in and day-out, and that’s definitely not the example I wanted to set for my family.
Fast-forward a year-and-a-half, I’m working out twice a week with my brother, another workout at home, and running religiously. If you workout with Eric, it’s hard not to get the itch to do a Spartan Race, so I did the 10K last year, the half marathon race in Montana this year, and plan on finishing my trifecta in the fall. My oldest son even caught the same bug and he will do his second race this year as well.
All this to say, when you come to Rock City Fitness, you get that one-on-one care not only to get accountability to put a higher priority in your health but also the drive to want to accomplish more. Eric has a gracious way of pushing you to “do hard things,” and they always manage to get done.
When I first met Eric I did not have much knowledge on how to properly workout. I knew I wanted to get in shape, lose weight, and gain muscle. What I did not expect was to fall in love with working out at Rock City Fitness and the workouts that Eric created.
I also began to love the group sessions. Very quickly, I started looking forward to going to my workouts. There was always flexible times for me to choose from and the workouts were always different. Eric helped me build muscle and within a few months I felt 10x stronger.
One of my favorite things about working out at Eric’s is how he knows just how far to push you. He has a great ability at knowing each of his clients fitness levels that helps us all achieve our maximum potential. He is encouraging and motivating without taking it to an extreme. I trust Eric in teaching me new exercises or challenging workouts.
Now being 32 weeks pregnant I have worked out with Eric at his gym my entire pregnancy. I can completely thank him in helping me maintain my fitness while carrying my baby. I also know that working out at Rock City is the reason why I have had such a healthy pregnancy. Even my doctor has said so!
Eric has modified workouts for me where needed, but not by much, all the while still encouraging me and pushing me to be healthy. I feel fantastic and I am so thankful I found Rock City fitness. It has forever changed me and the way my body feels!
I’ve worked out with Eric at Rock City Fitness for over a year and have been impressed with the service and excited about the results. When I joined, I was looking to add muscle and strengthen my core in a way that was fun and sustainable for many years. Eric started out by assessing my fitness level, teaching proper technique and slowly bringing up the weight and intensity level to avoid injury. Since joining, I’ve gained 5lbs of lean muscle and lowered my body fat percentage. More importantly, I’m stronger, have better balance and flexibility and feel great.
Eric takes pride in his gym, challenging himself daily, and keeping his skills honed. He has a strong background in athletics and a long history of training people at all levels. He supports his clients, no matter their training goals and goes out of his way to provide a premium service. I’m always impressed with the small group sessions, with ever-changing routines and ways to challenge each person. I leave each training session feeling energized, healthy, and ready for a great day.

Every year, I typically set short and long term goals - career, travel, materialistic things (cars, bikes, etc). One thing I have failed to focus on is my health and my body. I have been fortunate enough to be healthy, but good genes and luck only last so long. As such I decided to pull ahead my one and only goal for 2020 - Focus on my body. It requires a major change in lifestyle and mindset, but the health benefits of making this change now is going to outweigh any ‘should have/could haves’ down the line.
I would say the 6-7 sessions I’ve completed so far, coupled with the workouts I do on my own (outlined by Eric) is helping me rebuild my core. Starting off with the right stretches and warm ups (based upon my previous knee issues) coupled with the weight and resistance training, I can feel my strength and energy levels rising. And the knee, lower back aches, etc. are pretty much non existent now! Additionally by using/applying Eric’s experience and adjusting my workouts to meet my body structure and capabilities has definitely kept me injury free (something I typically did when I went to the gym without knowing what I was doing). All in all I am excited to see where I am a few months from now!
